The XVIIIth ISPCAN International Congress will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, on 26th - 29th September 2010. It will be organized in collaboration with Hawaii 2010 Local Organizing Committee, which consists of a consortium of over 20 Hawaii organizations and government departments that have been implementing innovative programs to protect children and strengthen families for almost 40 years.
The event will be organized under the theme "One World, One Family, Many Cultures", and will cover the following issues:
- cultural perspectives in strengthening families and protecting children;
- identifying, treating and preventing family and sexual violence;
- impact of armed conflict on families and children;
- family strengthening: a key to the prevention of child abuse and neglect;
- youth empowerment in the prevention of generational child abuse and neglect.
