The report on situation of Romani children in institutional care in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia

This study explores the representation and human rights situation of Romani children in institutional care in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Romania and Slovakia. It follows a report issued by the European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) in 2007 entitled, Dis-Interest of the Child: Romani Children in the Hungarian Child Protection System, which analysed the situation of Romani children in State child protection institutions in Hungary.

Children in the Union - Rights and Empowerment (CURE)

CURE is a project run by the Crime Victim Compensation and Support Authority in Sweden together with its partners in nine member states of the EU - Belgium, Croatia, Romania, Finland, France, Italy, UK, Portugal, Slovakia. It is devoted to the problem of children as victims of all sorts of crimes in the criminal justice systems of the European Union.

Without bruises campaign in Slovakia

Slovakian organisation Center Slniečko from Nitra is carrying out a country - wide social campaign "Without bruises". The campaign's goal is to raise awareness of the problem of violence against children. It is estimated that from 500 to 600 children fall victims of abuse each year in Slovakia. The initiative includes a number of activities, one of them being raising funds in support of violence prevention programmes, crisis intervention centers and shelters.
