On 4th of April Latvian Center Dardedze started the campaign called "Bad tradition" developed and conducted last year in Poland. Its aim is to raise awareness of parents and professionals in the field of child abuse prevention and to encourage the witnesses of abuse and violence to intervention.

New law on the protection of children against the negative impact of public information in Moldova

On March 7, the Moldovan Parliament adopted the Law on the protection of children against the negative impact of public information.
The law aims to establish criteria of negative impact of public information on children; clear provisions and standards on the spread information; rights, and obligations of the actors involved in developing, preparing, broadcasting, and supervising this activity of public interest.


SAPI published Review of the child protection system and children’s welfare in Bulgaria – Report for 2012

The report is published every year in the frame of the partnership international projects: „Childhood without Abuse - Toward a Better Child Protection System in Eastern Europe Project", financed by OAK foundation and „Protecting the right of child-victims of crime to psychological assistance and child-friendly interviewing procedures", financed by the "Fundamental rights" program of the European Commission.

Children trafficked for exploitation in begging and criminality - new report

Teams of police, prosecutors, child welfare professionals and NGO experts from Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden have made site visits in the four countries looking at the challenges facing law enforcement and child protection when it comes to protecting children suspected of being trafficked for exploitation in begging and/or in criminality.

The four site visits and the final roundtable meeting gave numerous opportunities to analyse obstacles for access to protection for child victims and difficulties in prosecuting the perpetrators.



Abused Child Quarterly dedicated to William N. Friedrich

The current issue of NCF's quarterly publication Abused Child is excepcional. It was dedicated to a man whose influence on child psychology, particularly in the field of sexual behaviours in children and child trauma is difficult to overestimate. Seven years have passed since the death of prof. William N. Friedrich.



Lithuanian babies- report on the situation of young children in Lithuania

Lithuanian organization, Children Support Centre has published a report "Lithuanian babies"  regarding the situation of young children (up to 3 years old) in Lithuania. 

 



Visibility of the campaign Protect me I am small in Bulgaria

Bulgarian organization SAPI has published the report regarding the visibility of the campaign "Protect me! I am small" in Bulgaria. It turns out that 60% of the people who had noticed the campaign found it necessary and almost 30% really necessary.

lncrease in child trafficking - new UNODC report

The 2012 Global Report on Trafficking in Persons released by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has revealed that 27 per cent of all victims of human trafficking officially detected globally between 2007 to 2010 are children, up 7 per cent from the period 2003 to 2006.

Second International Conference “Victimization of children, dimensions and prevention” held in Sofia

Social Activities and Practices Institute in partnership with the Ministry of Justice organized the Second International Conference "Victimization of children, dimensions and prevention". At the conference were presented national and European policies and practices on child abuse prevention and child-friendly justice.
